Can I void a payment in a previous year?
No, if the year is already closed. However, if you have not run final quarter close on the fourth quarter, but you have run trial and are now processing in the 1st quarter of the next year, then yes. Treat it just like you would if you were voiding a check in a previous quarter. Be cautious of voiding a check in the next quarter before you run Trial Quarter Close is ran.
For example, if on 01/02/2002 you realize you have a void for 12/28 check, make sure Trial Quarter Close has been ran before you void or you will not have a clear void.
